If you are travelling to Menorca between June and September - hire a car with air conditioning. There's nothing nicer than spending a relaxing day sweltering by the pool, or on the beach and then jumping into an ice cold car to head off to a restaurant for lunch or an early dinner - or just to cruise the island. It gets pretty hot quite early in the day and it really is no fun going shopping in a suffocatingly hot car. For those who say open the windows - maybe Menorca in the summer isn't the place for you! We've tried a reasonable variety of firms over the years and whilst it's nice to use a local firm who recognise us, you do pay a premium for the personal service. If you want good solid service and reasonable prices, the ones we've picked out above, all fit the bill. Plus, you can book online. One word of advice though, if you don't need a large car - don't hire one. Mahon in the summer is busy and you'll want to be able to park in some pretty tight gaps. Plus the roads on Menorca can be winding and narrow if you venture to some of the more out of the way places and in a smaller car (I think) you're less likely to have an accident!
